LOCKHEED MARTIN UNIT TO HONOR SUPERLATIVE EMPLOYEES IN NEW JERSEY, GEORGIA, AND VIRGINIA

CHERRY HILL, NJ, March 17, 2009 — Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] Advanced Technology Laboratories (ATL) selected 10 employees to receive its highest award for superior performance in management, technology leadership, inventiveness, and support. About four percent of the unit’s 250 employees receive the honor annually.

Lockheed Martin ATL will honor the following employees:

  • Tom Damiano, Manasquan, N.J., for outstanding technical achievements in distributed operations technology for Lockheed Martin Corporation and object recognition technology for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).
  • Phil DiBona, Woodbury, N.J., for outstanding leadership of processes that enabled ATL to achieve Level 3 on the Capability Maturity Model Integration® for Development.
  • Peter Gerken, Merchantville, N.J., for outstanding performance as the integration lead on a plan understanding and monitoring system for the U.S. Air Force.
  • Carlos Henriquez, Mount Laurel, N.J., for outstanding performance as lead systems integrator on several programs for the U.S. government.
  • Mark Hoffman, Kennesaw, Ga., for outstanding management and execution on a crises early warning system for DARPA.
  • Grant Hollis, Audubon, N.J., for outstanding leadership and development skills on several U.S. government programs.
  • Drew Housten, Marlton, N.J., for outstanding performance as the technical lead in designing autonomous technologies for the U.S. Navy.
  • Aron Rubin, Marlton, N.J., for outstanding performance as the software integration lead for development of a radio-frequency-spectrum planning tool for the U.S. Army.
  • Jim Starz, Arlington, Va., for outstanding research in semantic techniques for the U.S. Air Force and others.
  • Samantha Swanson Acosta, Logan Township, N.J., for outstanding performance in communications and public affairs on multiple initiatives for ATL as well as Lockheed Martin Corporation.

ATL will recognize honorees and their guests at the National Constitution Center, Philadelphia, Pa., on April 18.
