EMPLOYEES FROM LOCKHEED MARTIN’S CHERRY HILL BUSINESS WIN CORPORATION’S HIGHEST HONOR

CHERRY HILL, NJ, July 23, 2009—Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] selected 11 employees from its Advanced Technology Laboratories (ATL) to receive its NOVA Award for teamwork. The NOVA Award is the Corporation’s highest recognition, which fewer than one-half of one percent of the Corporation’s employees worldwide receive annually.

Lockheed Martin is recognizing the team for its work on a U.S. Army program that for the first time gives warfighters the ability to plan and manage the availability and fidelity of radio frequencies on the battlefield. Called the Coalition Joint Spectrum Management and Planning Tool, the technology has resulted in faster, more reliable communications and earlier detection and resolution of communications and electronic conflicts. The result has significantly improved mission preparation, prosecution and success, as well as warfighter safety.

Receiving the honor are:

  • Timothy Bieniosek, Oaklyn, N.J.
  • Diana Brucoli, Cinnaminson, N.J.
  • William Kline, Glassboro, N.J.
  • Lynn Kline, Glassboro, N.J.
  • Bruce Mackay, Cherry Hill, N.J.
  • Randall Poe, Rutledge, Pa.
  • Aron Rubin, Marlton, N.J.
  • Jon Russo, Cherry Hill, N.J.
  • Raymond Shaw, Hammonton, N.J.
  • Eric Steed, Cheltenham, Pa.
  • Harris Zebrowitz, Bala Cynwyd, Pa.

This year's NOVA Award marks the sixth consecutive year in which ATL employees have received the honor and brings to 30 the number of awards ATL employees have received since 1995 - an impressive achievement from an employee population of 250.

There are five categories of award: exceptional service, full spectrum leadership, teamwork, technical excellence, and technical innovation. The award trophy consists of a brilliant representation of the Lockheed Martin star logo bursting forth from a hand-polished, black-marble base.

Lockheed Martin Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Robert Stevens will present the awards this the fall during a black tie ceremony at the National Air and Space Museum, Washington, D.C.

ATL is Lockheed Martin’s applied research and development facility that develops advanced computing technologies and transitions them to Lockheed Martin businesses, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, military services, and service laboratories. Technology focus areas include autonomy and artificial intelligence, network-centric operations, cognitive computing, information exploitation, and advanced signal processing.

Headquartered in Bethesda, Md., Lockheed Martin is a global security company that employs about 146,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products and services. The corporation reported 2008 sales of $42.7 billion.
